Dr. Elizabeth Holland
One of the closest matters to our hearts is our kids. As we wrap up this capsule on “Matters of the Heart”, we will dive into teen anxiety and how we can best support our kids.
Dr. Elizabeth Holland is a licensed psychologist who specializes in comprehensive psychological assessments for children, adolescents, and young adults (ages 4-24). Her evaluations cover areas such as learning disorders (such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia), ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and other neurodevelopmental disorders. She also conducts social-emotional assessments.
Dr. Holland also provides therapy services for treating children, adolescents, or young adults (ages 7-24) with anxiety, OCD, depression, life and school stressors, identity development, and life adjustment. Dr. Holland is committed to practicing evidence-based interventions. She has been trained in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), parent behavioral management protocols, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy skills, and mindfulness-based stress reduction.
Dr. Holland earned her doctorate from the University of Washington’s School Psychology program (APA-accredited). She concluded her doctoral studies with a clinical APA-accredited internship at Florida State University’s Multidisciplinary Evaluation and Consulting Center in Tallahassee, Florida, where she received specialized training in ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and school-based mental health services. She subsequently completed her post-doctoral training on an NIH-funded research fellowship specializing in ADHD at the Children’s Learning Clinic (CLC) in the Clinical Psychology department at Florida State University. Dr. Holland has taught several courses and supervised undergraduate and graduate students at Western Washington University, Florida State University, and University of Washington.
Prior to pursuing her Ph.D., Dr. Holland earned a master’s degree in education from the University of Puget Sound, was a public school teacher in the Highline School District, worked at the All Kinds of Minds Institute in New York City, and was the language training department head at University Preparatory School in Seattle. Currently, Dr. Holland works in private practice part-time and teaches at University of Washington part-time.
